Fatima Alanis, a sophomore at Queens University in North Carolina, finished 13th in 9:26.37 in the women's elite 3,000 meters at the Camel City Invitational at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. Alanis, an NCAA Division 2 All-American in cross country and outdoor track representing Mexico, was competing in only her third career indoor race, improving from her 3,000 debut of 9:37.21 on Jan. 22 at South Carolina.
